110 Students Get Recognised

Awards function 2015 recognised Year six and eight students in art and writing
On Friday, December 4, 2015 about 110 winners of the Lil Champs Art and Writing Competition came to Fiji Museum to receive their awards from the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Mahendra Reddy.
This was the awards for the National Art and Writing Competition for Year Six and Year Eight students run by the Ministry of Education which took place after exams to occupy students in positive activities that enhance their talents and capabilities.
Releshni Karan, the ministry’s director corporate services, said over 25,000 entries were received nationwide from Year Six and Year Eight students out of which 300 winners were shortlisted.
Most of the winners are from northern and eastern island schools. There will be another awards ceremony as not all students could attend because of geographical difficulties.
An overwhelming response was received from members of the public, parents, guardians, grandparents and families that came in overwhelming numbers to support the event.
