The Australian Country women’s hockey coach, Wayne Gaynor, says the 2015 Fiji Invitational Series is good for his side.

Gaynor brought young players for exposure in the week-long tournament.

“The competition is good for us; I really like the format.

“We got a lot of young and new players this year so it’s an introduction for them to play a high level of hockey,” Gaynor said.

The Australians are currently undefeated in the tournament. They thumped Fiji 8-0, Fiji Presidents 5-0, Fiji Warriors 10-0.

Gaynor hopes the team keeps on improving.

“At the moment we are undefeated and we want to keep it this way for the rest of the tournament.

“Some of the players’ families are also here with us in Fiji supporting their children and we want to thank them for coming and supporting the little ones.”
