It was a spectacular sight in Labasa Town when Vodafone Fiji launched its Christmas tree with colourful decorative lights in the middle of the town on Tuesday night.

A large crowd from the northern sugar town gathered to celebrate the event which was followed by singing of Christmas carols and people gathering to view the Christmas tree.

Vodafone Fiji chief executive officer Pradeep Lal, who is originally from Labasa, officiated at the event.

“The company has shown wonderful spirit in organising a Christmas tree lighting this evening for my home town,” Mr Lal said.

He said the company had been in Fiji for about 21 years now and it was 100 per cent locally-owned. So giving back to the community was a very important to them.

“Vodafone is proud to spread the magic of Christmas in a way that will give our people the true joy and lasting memories this festive season.”

“Vodafone Fiji delivers and it is going to be Christmas with a difference this year in the northern sugar town for the first time,”he said.

The Christmas tree will remain lit throughout this month until January.
