Film Maker Hopes To Promote Fiji With Local Scenes

Fiji seems to be becoming a Bollywood production hub after a few directors having already shot their movies here.
An upcoming Film Chatayi Kahan Bhichayun is one of those films which was locally made with local cast and crew.
Mr. Param Sivan, the Director, Producer and Writer of the Film Chatayi Kahan Bhichayun said that it gave him an immense pleasure to introduce actors from Fiji.
This will be his second movie after his directional debut of the movie “TUM JO MILE” in Mumbai.
Mr. Sivan described Fiji as a wonderful location that hasn’t been explored by many Filmmakers.
“The scenery, the people and the culture, I just loved it. I think this will encourage more local filmmakers to make Fiji based Film, allowing progress of local actors/drama college and create more jobs for actors hunted by overseas Filmmakers,” he said.
He said this will also promote Fiji worldwide since a lot of scenery in Chatayi Kahan Bhichayun is shot from Suva to Raki Raki.
In dealing with the challenges, he mentioned his biggest downfall in Fiji is the publicity. There is hardly any room for promotion for local talents in Radio stations.
“I have plans to make more films around Fiji and base it on its people therefore will be visiting Fiji next week to hunt for locations for my next Film venture.”
The DVD was released last weekend by the Exotic Video Fiji Ltd outlets in the country. It is a Fiji Hindi/English comedy flick, shot in various location around Viti Levu. The official DVD release with the crew and cast has been scheduled for sometime next week.
