Focus on Fiji: Ryan

Coach commends Fijian organisation in California for paying travel, meals and accommodation for 2 extra players
Ben Ryan says the inaugural Cape Town Sevens will be won by those who want it more.
He admits other teams will want to knock out Fiji this weekend.
The Vodafone Fijian 7s coach says after the Dubai 7s, the task this weekend would be a lot tougher.
“Last weekend was an awesome weekend and I’m thrilled with the performance from the players,” Ryan said.
“Looking forward to repeat that this weekend, but it’s going to be very hard. There is a big competition ahead of us with some very strong teams looking like they going to do everything to knock us down.”
Southbay Davui
Ryan also acknowledged Southbay Davui, and those who assisted the team financially in Dubai and South Africa.
“We couldn’t have done it properly without the help from Southbay Davui, an organisation comprising of former Fiji citizens based in California.
“They gave us some money to pay for the accommodation, transportation and meals for the two extra players that we brought.
“So a huge thank you to everybody who makes a massive difference. “We are grateful to what you do and you make a difference on our success on and off the field.
Ryan looks forward to select his 12 men for the weekend.
“This week I’m looking forward for the players to put their hands up for selection.
“There were some niggling injuries from Dubai, stomach viruses flattening some teams here in Cape Town. But I’m looking forward to selecting the best team.”
Ultimate 7s Clinic
The team took part in the Ultimate Rugby 7s clinic in Cape Town on Tuesday.
UR7s acknowledges the team for their support.
“What a morning. So great to finally launch @ur7s_sa after months of talk and on the first clinic to have World Series champs Fiji join in the fun. Massive thanks @benryan7s and @chriscracknell7s for your support.”
The kids enjoyed the clinic and were grateful to meet the World Sevens Series champions.
Fiji plays Scotland at 9.59pm on Saturday, Russia at 1:20am on Sunday followed by Argentina game at 5:03am.
