Kepa’s Case Adjourned to January 26, 2016

A man charged with the rape of a child will have his case called again in January 2016 for mention.
Filipe Tuisawaukoroinibau Wai Kepa, 44, appeared yesterday at the High Court in Lautoka. He is being represented by lawyer Roneel Kumar from the Legal Aid Commission.
The court also heard that Kepa was on bail.
Mr Kumar told the court that at present his client was given a cash bail of $500 which he had found difficulty in paying.
The court heard that Kepa’s surety was also required to pay $500.
Mr Kumar requested for a bail bond of $500 for him and his surety.
He appeared before Justice Aruna Aluthge charged with three counts of rape contrary to section 207 of the Crimes Decree 2009 and one count of pornographic activity contrary to section 62 of the Juveniles (Amendment) Act 1997.
He is alleged to have raped the child on different occasions between 2013 and 2015 and allegedly participated in recording the activity directly and, or, indirectly involving a juvenile
The State prosecutor requested for more time to file information and disclosures.
