The lawyer of murder accused, Sundar Kaur, 48, and Geeta Devi, 28, has told court he would be making a formal bail application for his clients.

Legal Aid Commission lawyer Roneel Kumar made the request on behalf of his clients before Justice Aruna Aluthge at the High Court in Lautoka yesterday.

The State prosecutor has sought for time to file information and disclosures.

Kaur and Devi are each charged with one count of murder.

Devi has an additoinal charge for providing false information to a public servant.

Kaur is alleged to have murdered her 14-year-old daughter, Sanjani Lata, who was also known as Mona, at Kulukulu, Sigatoka, on November 1, 2015.

It is also alleged that Devi told a Police officer that Ms Lata had been missing since the noon of November 1 despite knowing that the information was false.

The court heard that the two were still being remanded.

Justice Aluthge adjourned the case to December 23 for mention.
