Shakers Here To Enjoy
The Shakers netball team are looking forward to playing in the Grasshoppers/ISG Carnival in Suva this weekend.
Arriving on Tuesday, Intersport Global Tour organiser Jane Ruston said most of the members from Gold Coast, Australia, were excited to be touring Fiji for the first time.
“We have nine teams altogether, “Ruston said.
“We have a club from Brisbane, six from New South Wales, one from Melbourne and one from Gold Coast.
“A lot of these girls have played at other carnivals. The Grasshoppers team from Fiji had came to the Gold Coast in in April.
“They invited us here and we have taken up the offer to provide a good challenge, have fun and enjoy the hospitality.”
The competition will be held at the National Netball Centre.
Grasshoppers Club co-founder/head coach Alumeci Sachs said the event was to develop young budding players.
