Locally-Made Film Ready For Release Here

Param Shivan has taken a household joke punch line and turned it into a real film.
His film, Chatayi Kahan Bhichayun, is a Fijian Hindi/English comedy flick shot entirely on various locations of Viti Levu with all Fijian cast and crew.
The film comes after his directional debut film, Tum Jo Mile, in Mumbai.
The film has been released by Mr Shivan. He is planning to have an official DVD release with the cast and crew on December 19 in Suva.
“Chayati Kahan Bhichayun has been a household joke for many years
and this had to be the best place to shoot,” he said.
“Fiji has some wonderful locations that haven’t been explored by many filmmakers, the scenery, the people and the culture…I just love it.”
Mr Shivan believes his film will be an encouragement for local filmmakers to make more Fijian-based films.
“It will allow a progress of a local actors/drama college and create more jobs for actors hunted by overseas filmmakers,” he said.
“This will also promote Fiji worldwide since a lot of scenery in Chatayi Kahan Bhichayun is shot from Suva to Rakiraki.”
Mr Shivan plans to make more films in Fiji and base these around Fiji and its people.
“I will be visiting Fiji next week to hunt for locations for my next film venture,” he said without revealing further details on this.
