Salome Moala, 26, was emotional during the Fiji National University (FNU) graduation at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Public Health Nursing.

Originally from Hala’ovave, Kolomotu, Tongatapu Island in Tonga, she wished her parents were there during her graduation.

She was given an opportunity to study in Fiji through a one year Ausralian aid scholarship.

“I wish my parents were here for my graduation today (yesterday),” she said.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) assistant country welfare manager Frank Stanford and his wife Susan Stanford were there to see her graduate.

Salome, who is a member of the LDS church, and had been staying with the couple during weekends.

Miss Moala departed for Tonga early this morning.
