Boxing fans went home angry and disappointed last night after Petero Qica failed to defend his Boxing Commission of Fiji heavyweight title against Napoleon Taumoepeau.

Billed as the fight of the year, it all came down to nothing and a total waste of time.

Fans vented their anger at promoter Abdul Khan and demanded refund of their money at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last night.

But Khan felt for the fans and said the BCF should take away the title from Qica and award it to Taumoepeau.

“This is pathetic, it’s a waste of time,” Khan said.

“The BCF should strip the title off Qica and give it to Napoleon. We are trying to revive the sports only to be hit with a low blow.

“They produced a medical certificate at the ground and Qica’s manager apologised to the crowd.

“This is not the way forward for boxing and the BCF should put an end to this,” Khan said
