Duo’s Dreams Come True

It was a dream come true for Leo Latianara, 27, and Mosese Nasamaki, 26, when they were ordained as deacons by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Polynesia, Winston Halapua.
It was held at the St Mark Church in Newtown, Nasinu yesterday.
The duo, who had recently graduated with Certificates in Theology from Saint John the Baptist Theological College in Suva, said they will continue to serve and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Fiji.
Mr Nasamaki said: “It was one of my dreams to become a priest. I had always wanted to become a priest when I was young.”
Mr Nasamaki attributed his achievement to his mother and wife who had supported him throughout.
He will now serve at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Church in Suva.
Mr Latianara said: “I am very thankful to my father for my achievement today. He inspired me to become a priest and it was his dream to see me become a priest,” he said.
He attributed his achievement to his late father, who died last year.
“I am happy that I have fulfilled his dreams but, he is now here to see me becoming a priest today,” Mr Latianara said.
Archbishop Halapua also reminded them that they had a special responsibility to ensure that those in need are cared for with Christ=like compassion and humility.
