Farmers in the Northern Division now have a chance to meet and discuss way of improving their yield.

Vanua Levu Producers and Marketing Association chairman Kameli Dracere said the Labasa Farmers Carnival which was held last week allowed farmers to network.

“The carnival was a golden opportunity for farmers to market their agricultural produce and learn from other farmers like farming skills and time management,” Mr Dracere said.

“The focus of the carnival was to generate employment opportunities for farmers through the use of natural resources and utilisation of unused land.

“Farmers from Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata now have a chance to sell or showcase their produce like crops, fruits, vegetables and livestock through the carnival.”

He said future carnivals would also have a handicraft show.

The four-day carnival ended last Saturday.
