It was a lucky escape for a family after the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road at Tuatua in Labasa yesterday.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the driver was travelling with three other passengers.
“Fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries,” Ms Naisoro said.
“The accident was due to a mechanical fault however, that will be subject to the Land Transports Authorities (LTA) vehicle inspection report.”
Ms Naisoro has urged motorists to take precautionary measures at all times.
“We will continue to ask motorists to drive carefully to avoid accidents,” she said.
