Minister Reddy Awards Northern Students

Minister for Education Mahendra Reddy last week awarded four Year 8 students in Labasa for their outstanding performance in a competition organised by the Ministry of Education.
The competition allowed students to perform well at school academically and in art and craft.
Mr Reddy said it was the first time Year Six and Eight students competed.
Art and craft winners were Year 8 students; Shiveshni Chand, Dipashna Panikar, Mohammed Beg, Dipashna Panikar and Fazlin Bi of Tabia Primary School who won short story writing.
The students were from Tabia, Batinikama Primary and Sangam Primary.
“The ministry received more than 20,000 entries from all over Fiji,” Mr Reddy said.
The competition involved essay writing, drawing, short story writing and painting.
“I thank students all over Fiji, especially the Northern Division for participating and it is an eye opener to see the creativity of students.”
Mr Reddy said the ministry wanted to publish some of the work done by the students.
