Post Fiji, Retailer For Safety Equipment In Maritime Zones

The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF)yesterday signed a retail agreement with the Post Fiji Limited for the sale of lifesaving equipment in maritime Post Fiji offices.
Post Fiji chairman Lawrence Tikaram thanked MSAF for the arrangement. He said it was part of Post Fiji’s endeavours to grow its business and interact with more Government agencies and entities.
Mr Tikaram said: “This is by far another way of extending our services to the people of Fiji.
“We make sure that all Fijians have access to safety equipment which is something we take to heart, especially with people in the islands.”
“Post Fiji is known to have one of the biggest footprints in the nation together with its obligation to offer postal services to the public.
“It means that Post Fiji continues to be a leader in providing daily essential services and engaging in more innovative services for the people of Fiji.”
The agreement means that maritime customers can order safety equipment for their boats from any of the maritime Post Fiji locations.
It would be supplied by MSAF.
Safety equipment such as fire blankets, First Aid Kit, smoke signal flare, hand held flare, parachute flare, signalling mirror and life jackets are being sold at Post Fiji outlets.
MSAF acting chief executive John Tunidau said: “We have been working so hard to get life saving apparatus are provided especially to rural and maritime.
“MSAF has gone out of its way to comply with our new legislation and we thank Post Fiji for that, he said”
