‘Parents should invest in the development of their children’

As the Grasshoppers/Intersport Global International Netball Festival came to an end on Monday at the National Netball Centre, Grasshoppers co-founder Alumeci Sachs has promised a better tournament in 2016.

With 11 teams and over 241 registered players participating, Sachs said they were looking forward to a fruitful 2016 with the same aim to develop netball.

“A lot of hard work from everyone has gone into making this event a success as it is our first year, I can say that we will only get better,” Sachs said.

“My passion is netball and developing young netters so we can reassure you that 2016 will be even bigger and better than this year and we will be more organised.

“The Grasshoppers Netball family is very passionate about developing our young girls in netball and in life skills.”

She said she believed parents should invest in the development of their children to reap the rewards on and off the court.

“From this two-day tournament, we can see tangible results already,” she said.

Sachs said their seven months of planning the tournament had paid off and thanked the sponsors NewNet, Peoples Community Network (PCN), Sports World, Skaff Works, Goodman Fielder, Coca-Cola Amatil, Fiji Sports Council and Finance Pacific for their immense help.
