Focus On Defence:Kolinisau
Vodafone Fijian 7s team captain Osea Kolinisau said they needed to improve on their defence.
The team won the Dubai 7s beating England in the finals 28-17, however the team lost in the quarter final against France in Cape Town but won the plate final last weekend.
“This year it was a really successful outing for us compared to last year where we lost in the semi final in Dubai but this year we won and we are five points ahead in the World 7s series standings.
“The game of sevens is getting harder as it is not easy and we are grateful for a successful year of high-performance,” Kolinisau said.
However, he said the team needs to build on their defence and work towards giving better performance in the next sevens tournament in Wellington next year on January 30-31.
“We need to work on getting our defence in shape before going to the Wellington,” Kolinisau added.
