Boseiwaqa: Change of attitude needed

Serua Provincial Council chairman, Tevita Boseiwaqa, has called on the people of his province to change their attitude in terms of development.
Mr Boseiwaqa, who is outgoing Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands told the Serua leaders that they were fortunate enough to have rich resources on land and in sea.
Yet, there was too much reliance on Government, he added.
“You have to take a positive attitude and take the lead and Government will follow,” Mr Boseiwaqa told participants.
Despite Government providing the necessary infrastructure like roads, schools, health centres, water catchments and agricultural development, while others worked hard, some were complacent.
Mr Boseiwaqa reminded them that in development, politics should be avoided.
The province had its own development programme which was aligned to Government’s development plan.
Mr Boseiwaqa has been appointed the director-general of the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific next year.
His official appointment to this post begins on July 6 and ends in July 2020.
