Christmas On The Park In Savusavu

For the first time the Savusavu Town Council is organising a ‘Christmas on Park’ event today at the market foreshore ground in Savusavu.
And special administrator Labasa and Savusavu towns Vijay Chand said he was happy to see his staff making an effort to do something for their town especially during this festive season.
Also the people of the Savusavu, Vanua Levu, had a glimpse of Christmas tree with lights in their very own town.
The tree was placed in front of Savusavu Town Council office on Wednesday night.
The staff of the council spent three hours after work to decorate the tree and stayed back until 11 in the night to see the lighting of the tree.
Savusavu Chamber of Commerce and Industries vice-president Shiu Sharma said he was thankful to the council for making an initiative to put up a Christmas tree.
“This is the first time for our town to have Christmas tree lighting and it would be on until the end of Christmas,” Mr Sharma said.
“Many people came along with families to take photos or just to sit around and have some family time with kids.
This has also attracted tourists, who are spending their holidays in various resorts in Savusavu, to visit our town.”
