Illicit Drugs Found Inside Shampoo Bottles Seized

Officers from the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FRCA) intercepted a parcel containing Methamphetamine at the Suva Post Office yesterday.
The illicit drug was concealed inside a shampoo bottle and was sent from the United States addressed to a local woman.
The FRCA Intelligence team had been tipped about the drugs early this month.
The suspect went to Post Office to collect the parcel. However she fled when questioned by Customs officers. She was later identified through her Tax Identification Number (TIN).
FRCA acting chief executive officer Visvanath Das said: “I commend our officers for carrying out their duties diligently in ensuring our borders are protected from the infiltration of illicit drugs.”
He said the seizure would serve as a warning to all those unscrupulous traders wanting to bring in illegal drugs that FRCA and Police officers are vigilant in their work to ensure our borders were safe.
Meanwhile, the drug seized has been handed to Police for further investigation.
