Veteran journalist Matai Akauola has been confirmed as the latest Member of Parliament for the FijiFirst Government.
Mr Akauola confirmed that he will not be resigning his role as a media specialist for the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC).
He has also confirmed that he has received confirmation from the Fijian Electoral Commission.
“I now await confirmation from the Speaker of the House and I am ready to offer my experience and be sure to assist Government in moving our country forward.”
Mr Akauola replaced FijiFirst MP, Sanjit Patel who resigned to pursue business interests.
