Naivalurua Commends China Ties

Fiji’s Ambassador to China, Ioane Naivalurua, said having to share people to people experience could help strengthen relationship between countries.
“I have seen the wide number of opportunities China offers for Fiji while I was there for the past eight months.
“This is evident as we can see the number of students who are being offered scholarship to go and study in China. This is in line with Government priority areas,” Mr Naivalurua said.
“The students not only come back with excellence, but are able to understand and know the Chinese language.
“China’s currency has also been accepted as one of the trading currency in the world.”
Mr Naivalurua is in the country to attend the Heads of Missions meeting scheduled for next Monday at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
The former Corrections and Police Commissioner replaced Esala Teleni, who is now Head of Mission in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Mr Naivalurua, while visiting the Confucius Institute at USP in Suva yesterday, said the establishment of such institution helped strengthen bonds between the two countries and assist students from Fiji who flew over to study in China.
The Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, will officiate in the meeting next week.
