Poor Advice
The six Fijian seasonal workers who walked away from their jobs in Brisbane were victims of poor advice from bush lawyers.
They join a growing list of Fijians who have legitimately travelled to Australia for a variety of purposes but ended up on the wrong side of the law and facing the wrath of Australian Immigration Department.
They had signed a contract and instead of discussing their grievances with the appropriate authorities in Fiji and Australia, they decided to listen to the bush lawyers.
Now they are facing deportation and humiliation.
