RFMF: Vinaka Fiji Sun

The Republic of the Fiji Military Forces rugby team showed their appreciation to the Fiji Sun in Suva yesterday.
Led by RFMF rugby team chairman Commander (Navy) Humphrey Tawake, manager Major Saula Koro and team captain Jolame Bera, the team presented the International Defence Rugby Championship title.
The unbeaten team defeated the British Army 30-10 in the final last month in England.
Commander (Navy) Tawake acknowledges the Fiji Sun.
“We want to thank the Fiji Sun for the support,” he said.
“This is just show our appreciation and to show you the result of your support.
“We know without your support this would never be made possible.
“We bring back the trophy to Fiji Sun to spend Christmas and New Year in Walu Bay.”
Sawakasa, Tailevu, native Bera said: “It was team bonding that kept the team together and definitely the Fiji Sun.
“We gave our 100 per cent effort to try and win this title not only for the RFMF but for Fiji.
“When the Vodafone Flying Fijians could not make the Cup quarterfinal at the 2015 RWC we tried so hard to win the title for Fiji.”
Bera applauded the support from overseas Fijians.
“The support from our fellow Fijians and the guidance of our good Almighty God boosted our performance.
“Our plan now for next year is to try and win the Ratu Sukuna Bowl from Police.”
$40,000 cheque to RFMF
The Fiji Sun presented a $40,000 cheque which assisted with preparation and participation of the RFMF in the International Defence Rugby Championship in England.
Managing Editor training Nemani Delaibatiki congratulated the champions.
“We salute the achievement of the RFMF and we will continue to support you,” he said.
“We look forward to working with you in future especially in the 2016 Ratu Sukuna Bowl challenge,” Delaibatiki said.
