The Gone Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi, paramount chief of Rewa and Opposition leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa turned 70 yesterday.

Opposition office staff and MPs  along with SODELPA supporters organised a surprise party to celebrate the occasion.

Ro Teimumu said she was thankful to God for many things.

“I’m thankful for my parents and in this life journey, the late Tui Nayau, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara for his upbringing.”

She said Ratu Mara played a big role in her interest in politics.

“I thank God for my late husband, Sailosi Wai Kepa and the relationships he brought into life.”

Ro Teimumu also thanked those who contributed positively and negatively in her life.

At 70, she said she was still learning a great deal.

Organisers made a special mention of Ro Teimumu’s birthday cake with a reminder to ‘eat with prayer and thanksgiving’ and resolve to follow the example in 2 Timothy 1:6.

Former Fijian President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau was also at the celebration along with other prominent members of SODELPA including:
