Ahara Khan was farewelled at the Fiji Sun headquarters in Walu Bay as she attended her final meeting of senior managers.

Ms Khan is going to spend more time in Australia and with family after playing an intense nonstop key role at the Fiji Sun since the newspaper’s founding in 1999.

Her most recent position was General Manager Advertising. There she spearheaded efforts which saw the Fiji Sun now dominate display and classified advertising market share.

Ms Khan’s final day with the newspaper was Friday.

She is succeeded as Advertising Manager by Monisha Prasad, who joins the Fiji Sun after working progressively up within the C.J. Patel Group since 2009.

Ms Prasad’s most recent role in the group was Team Leader Corporate with Freedom Fones. Previously she worked with C.J. Patel as Advertising and Marketing Coordinator and before that Supply Chain Coordinator.

Fiji Sun Publisher/CEO Peter Lomas praised Ms Khan’s work at the Fiji Sun and welcomed Ms Prasad.

He said:

“Obviously we’re sad to see Ahara go. Same time we’re delighted to have someone of Monisha’s skills, education and proven calibre come on board from within the group to build on all Ahara’s good work.”

Farewells for Ms Khan were earlier held by the C.J. Patel family at the Grand Pacific Hotel and by her Advertising staff at Walu Bay.
