Nagalele Bags Outstanding Workers Award

Ilisoni Nagalele was all smiles after being awarded the General Manager’s Outstanding Government Wage-Earners award at the Vodafone Arena on Friday night.
The former road construction worker was recognised as one of the top ward assistants during the CWM Board of Visitors Awards night.
The General Manager’s Outstanding Government Wage Earners award is one of the main awards for the night.
The award is given to people with high level of dedication, commitment and professionalism.
Mr Nagalele, who is originally from Rokovuaka Village, Nalawa, Ra, was one of the 70 award winners.
“I was a former road construction worker for seven years before joining the Ministry of Health. Being in road construction has taught me to be a hard working person,” he said.
“It was a tough job but I learned to be a good worker and never to complain and it was with that same attitude that I joined the Ministry of Health resulting in my achievements today.”
He said he spent nine years as ward assistant in the CWM Hospital and worked in all the five different departments – from laundry, top kitchen, kitchen, labour and standard sterile department in the hospital.
Mr Nagalele thanked his family and friends for their support and most importantly to the Lord for giving him the courage to work hard.
He also received a $100 shopping voucher from Marokha Property Solutions and a return flight for two from Nadi to Savusavu courtesy of Island Hoppers Air Services. Edited by Manasa Kalouniviti
