Sixteen students made up the 18 th graduating class of the South Pacific Academy of Beauty Therapy (SPABT) at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi last Friday night.

SPABT director/Principal Debra Sadranu said the academy stood tall to see students excel despite facing a lot of challenges.

Ms Sadranu added: “These are great compliments and it is evident that Beauty and Spa Therapy plays a vital part of Fiji’s tourism industry.

“The demand has been very high locally and globally as well and we have been filling the industry with qualitative graduates.”

Fiji Higher Education Commission, team leader executive office, Charmaine Kwan officiated at the event.

Ms Kwan thanked the Spa Academy Fiji for playing a crucial role in supporting young women to contribute to the growing tourism industry. This includes the area of beauty and therapy since 1998.

She added: “We congratulate and acknowledge those that assisted our graduates to achieve what they are today.”

She mentioned the tireless effort of hard working parents and students have finally paid off as financial, emotional and spiritual support delivered during the term of the course.
