Keen To Keep 7s Spot

Vodafone Fijian 7s newest player Alifereti Veitokani is keen to play in the second round of the World Sevens Series in Wellington and Sydney starting next month.
The 23-year-old from Lomainasau Village, Tailevu said he would never forget making his debut at the Cape Town Sevens in South Africa early this month.
“I watched from the sideline in Dubai and making my debut for my country in Cape Town is something I will never forget,” Veitokani said.
“Playing in another country is way different to playing at home because the atmosphere is incredible playing in front a lot of people.
“I want more and I will make sure to work hard in order to be selected for the next leg in Wellington the series.
“I’ve a lot I need to work on but the experience and training under coach Ben Ryan is quite special.
The former Ratu Kadavulevu School student played for the Hideaway Hurricanes in 7s and BLK Nadroga in 15s.
“I’ve achieved my dream of representing my country but my main aim is to keep my spot on the team. I’m looking forward to the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil,” he said.
“I know what I’m capable of and I have had a taste of the series and know what to expect and what is expected of me.
“I look up to team captain Osea Kolinisau and other senior players but I need to keep working hard and prove myself to Ben.
The Wellington 7s is set for January 30-31. Fiji is pooled with Argentina, Wales and Japan.
