Mara: Enhance Relations With United States

Being a Representative in one of the world’s biggest economic powerhouses holds many opportunities.
Our new Fijian Ambassador to United States of America, Solo Mara said he would take advantage of this by using a few tactics he applied in his last post.
To do this, the International Masters Degree holder said his first task was to hold a series of meetings with existing partners.
“Most of our friends are our markets too in America,” Mr Mara said during the Heads of Missions Consultation at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
The former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom said dialogue would ensure that both parties knew exactly what they wanted from each other.
Only then would this further enhance the possibilities of tapping into new markets, he added.
Mr Mara obtained his Master Degree from the International University of Japan.
Prior to this he had been a long serving public servant with more than 15 years’ experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He hails from Nacomoto Village in the district of Naceva in Kadavu.
Mr Mara’s accreditation also includes Canada and Mexico.
