The Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama received a courtesy call from the newly-appointed secretary-general of the Pacific Islands Development Forum François Martel.
Mr Bainimarama congratulated Mr Martel on the contribution made by the PIDF at the recent UN Climate Change talks in Paris.
He also reiterated that more work remains to be done to implement the terms of the “Paris Agreement”.
MrBainimarama wished Mr Martel, his staff members and families a happy Christmas and extended his well wishes for a prosperous 2016.
