7s Heat Is On

Vodafone Fijian 7s rep Emosi Mulevoro aims to be included in the next cluster of the 2015-2016 World Sevens Series in Wellington and Sydney next month.
The Kadavu-Koro, Kadavu native, who made his debut in 2013-14 series in Hong Kong, admitted it’s getting tough making the cut under Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Ben Ryan.
Having a good performance in the first round in Dubai and Cape Town, Mulevoro aims to keep his place in the team.
“We’ve completed the first cluster but training and preparation does not stop,” Mulevoro said.
Proving our worth
“With a coach like Ben Ryan, we need to keep on proving ourselves to him and show him that we deserve to be in the squad. It’s tough to make the cut because Ben wants the best and he is tough
“That is the hardest part because competition is tough among the boys.
“You can’t feel too comfortable being in team because there are many talented players out there.
“So for me, it is constant pressure to work harder every day and stay fit and healthy especially during this festive season.
“We return to camp next month and I need to be ready for that. I need to prove my worth in the team in order to be included in the squad for the Wellington- Sydney leg.”
Mulevoro said 2015 was tough and challenging.
“It has been one of the most challenging, constantly working hard and getting into shape.
“I know I still have a long way to go and I feel still have a lot of growing to do so I’m looking forward to 2016.”
The Wellington 7s will be held on Januar 30-31 at Westpac Stadium.
Fiji is pooled with Argentina, Wales and Japan.
