President Reaches Out On Christmas Eve

He shares his feelings during visits to institutions on Christmas eve
The President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Konrote says he is concerned with the well-being of the people and wants a healthy nation.
He made the remarks when he visited two residential care homes and St Giles Hospital on Thursday.
Mr Konrote informed the residents of Samabula Senior Citizens Home, Father Law Home and St Giles Hospital that he was visiting them for the first time as President but it will certainly not be the last.
“I want to thank the staff who provide such good care to the people who live in these institutions. As Head of State, I am concerned with the well-being of the people and want a healthy nation.”
The visits were an opportunity for him to interact with senior citizens and also hear some of the issues that they faced.
“Christmas is a time for family reunion and we want you to be with your family,” he said.
He asked the patients to take their medication and get well soon so that they can become part of the community again,”
The President also gifted the three institutions with hampers containing Christmas treats and something extra to bring more cheer for the festivities.
The residents, some of whom have spent decades in the homes, appreciated the visit and wished Mr Konrote and his family well during his tenure as Head of State.
