It was an exciting moment for 43-year-old Peter Levastam when he won A$25,000 on Wednesday.

This was when ANZ, last Wednesday announced a joint account winner where, Peter and Theresa Levastam of Namaka, Nadi, were the final winners of the A$25,000 Pacific Mega Campaign.

The joint account was drawn out of 434 entries received over the last three months.

The couple had taken out a loan of $73,000 from the ANZ Bank for their vehicle.

With the theme, ‘Rewarding Relationships with ANZ’, the 12-month campaign provided ANZ customers in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Timor Leste, Kiribati and Solomon Islands with the chance to enter the draw and win A$25,000 every three months.

“This is the best Christmas gift I have ever received,” he said.

Mr Levastam said he had never won any big amount of money before.

“I’ve been an ANZ Bank customer for the last 20 years and I am so thankful to them for running this campaign,” he said.

Mr Levastam will plan how they spend the prizemoney with his wife.

ANZ Bank head of retail banking Ashish Bhugra said: “This promotion is, in our own way, an effort to thank our customers.”

Mr Bhugra congratulated Mr and Mrs Levastam for banking with ANZ and taking out a car loan which gave them the chance to win the final A$25,000.

“ANZ is delighted to reward you with the final draw prize of the Pacific Mega Campaign, ‘Rewarding Relationships’ and we thank you for choosing ANZ,” he said.

The customers of 51 ANZ branches in the nine Pacific Island countries took part on this promotion.

The first winner of the Pacific Mega Campaign in March this year was Mwateiti Areke from Kiribati. Second winner was Krishneel Naidu of Fiji announced in July and the third winner was Gloria Lango of Vanuatu announced in October. The final winner was Mr and Mrs Levastam.

The campaign started in December last year and  ends on December 31.
