Telecom Fijiana prop Litia Naiqato aims to quit smoking and drinking and focus on rugby as her New Year’s resolution.

The Dakuinuku, Sawakasa native believes the 2016 Rio Olympics journey will be not be easy and requires a lot of sacrifices and dedication.

“There are a lot of talks about the Rio Olympics next year,”she said.

“We’ve come a long way trying to qualify and we did but it’s just the beginning.

“Teams will be competitive and pressure is on us trying to win a medal but we need to sacrifice and give our 100 per cent best during preparation.

“To sacrifice my aim is to quit smoking and drinking alcohol and kava so that I can only focus on my rugby. I’ve started cutting down this year but next year as part of my New Year resolutions I will have to let go of these three things.”

The 28-year old normally wear a white headband and carrying the ball in one-hand.

“My aim is to be myself and give my best for my country and I want to thank the two coaches Chris Cracknell and Iliesa Tanivula for helping me.

“I always make sure that I make all tackles count, to be ruthless and win the ball.”

Qualifying for Rio was her best memories for 2015.

“Helping my team to qualify for Rio was a memorable moment for me.”

She made her debut for Fiji in 2012 at the Asian Women’s 7s Championships in  Pune, India.

She started playing rugby in 2010 with the Mystic Knights. She also represented Fiji in football and was member of the Fiji U20 womens football side that participated in the Oceania Games in Samoa.

She has maternal links to Lodoni, Sawakasa, Tailevu and comes from a family of six
