China Railway Eyes More Social Commitment

The China Railway First Group (CRFC) will next year increase its involvement in the area of corporate social responsibility.
CRFC spokesperson Donald Singh said the company had been carrying out major infrastructure projects in Fiji for over seven years now and the company had always valued and obligated to undertake its social responsibilities.
“The company hopes to do it bigger next year,” he said.
He said recently the company carried out clean-up work at the Suva Point foreshore as part of its social responsibility, especially in terms of helping keep public places clean and in good condition.
Mr Singh said it was important to ensure that popular picnic spots like Suva Point was clean and hygienic.
Forty-five Chinese staff participated in the activity and filled up almost 100 sacks of rubbish.
