There were words from reliable sources that Fijian Pearls head coach Kate Carpenter was forced to resign following the year’s review of Fijian Pearls performance.

When SUNsports contacted Kate yesterday the outgoing coach wished not to make any further comments to the media. She reiterated she resigned for personal reasons.

Food for thought

Was fekei, the traditional food of Polynesian islanders, Rotumans included, really served on board the new Fiji Airways Airbus on its way here?

Maybe it should be part of the  Island of Rotuma’s signature dessert whenever she flies.

Women ways

Interesting how our itaukei language expert, Paul Geraghty, often utters things that challenge the status quo.

The latest one is that traditionally iTaukei women did not inherit the name of their husband after marriage.

Women kept their maiden name as a symbol of keeping their identity.

A thumbs up from the women’s movement, no doubt.
