‘Right Attitude’

Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Ben Ryan believes the right attitude of his players contributes to their positive performances on the field this year.
In a correspondence with SUNsports from England, Ryan regards this as the highlight from the 7s camp this year.
“Good attitude in camp leading to the team growing well,” Ryan said.
The team has achieved so much for the country and the achievements have elevated our profile and image to a new level.
One of the major achievements this year was winning the 2014-2015 World Sevens Series resulting in the automatic qualification for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
With our 7s gladiators leading the way on the field Ryan also stated there are areas they will need to improve in order to do well in the new season.
He commended the players’ effort.
“With all teams, we can improve in lots of areas.
“But the team is playing well and continues to develop,” Ryan said.
2016 plans
Now that our Vodafone Fijian 7s gladiators have opted to make sacrifices building up to another round in the series and Rio Olympics next year, Ryan said they would need to be at their best.
Fiji is grouped in Pool B alongside Argentina, Wales and Japan in the next round of series in Wellington which will be held on January 30-31.
“All excellent sides and we need to be at our best to progress.
“For the next eight months there is going to be a lot of hard work ahead,” Ryan said.
Fiji won the Dubai 7s last month beating England 28-17, but won the Plate final in Cape Town beating USA 29-19.
