It was indeed a memorable flight for first officer, Andrew Elaisa Konrote, the youngest son of President, Jioji Konousi Konrote.

He was honoured to fly in the new Fiji Airways Airbus A330–300 from Toulouse, France, which reached Fiji after a brief stopover in Hong Kong.

He said it was a special moment for him to have his Dad on board with him and not only for him but for all Fijians of Rotuman decent as well.

Mr Andrew Konrote is the first officer with Airbus A330-300 which was captained by Harnek Singh and William Moceacagi.

He finished his high school with Yat Sen before moving to Flying School in Melbourne and since then it was no turning back for him.

He is married with three children and has been with the Fiji Airways for the past nine years. It is his second year being part of the Airbus crew.

“We feel blessed as the people of Rotuma to have the Fiji Airways Airbus named after our home island and we are really honoured to be recognised,” Mr Konrote said.

“I have had an excellent opportunity to be part of the Fiji Airways family and to ensure we give our passengers a friendly and safe travelling experience.”

Mr Konrote started off with Air Fiji for four years before joining Fiji Airways as a second officer with the Boeing 747.

“With Fiji Airways, there is a progressive plan and after sometime, I moved on to Boeing 737 and finally now with Airbus for the past two years,” he said.

He said Fiji Airways provides a valuable and memorable experience to its passengers and feels that it is best.

For those wishing to take up pilot courses, Mr Konrote encouraged them to do so with the best of their abilities.

“Enjoy what you do and be thankful for the family who support you,” he said.

Captain Harnek Singh, Fleet Captain A330, says he is proud to be growing with Fiji Airways.

He joined Fiji Airways in August 2000 as a first officer with Boeing 737 fleet and dedicated his 16 years serving the company.

“Over the years, Fiji Airways has progressed into the A330 Airbus and it has been an excellent experience growing with the team,” he said.

Mr Singh is married with two children and thanks Fiji Airways for giving him an opportunity to fly with the team.

“Once you step into the Fiji Airways aircraft, you are in Fiji and I wish to continue with Fiji Airways in the future.”
