Taxi Driver Questioned
The Fiji Police Force is awaiting the post mortem result of the 22-year-old man who died in a hit and run accident along Laucala Beach last Saturday before they could charge anyone.
As of Monday a taxi driver has been questioned in relation to the incident.
Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed the driver was questioned by Police at the Valelevu Police Station in Nasinu on Monday. The orange coloured taxi involved in the accident has also been seized by Police.
The incident claimed the life of Maciu Delai, 22, who lived 20 metres away from the accident site.
It is understood that the Police were assisted through a video footage provided by a service station nearby.
The post mortem examination result is expected to be out soon.
