Families Brace For Worse

I have learned my lesson the last time so I’m preparing my family well: Sukulu
Many families around the country actively reacted to warnings issued by the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) yesterday.
One of whom was Sekove Sukulu and his family of Koronivia Farm road.
Mr Sukulu’s three bedroom house had part of its roof blown off during a strong wind warning in 2011.
“As soon as I heard the warning, I told my family to get ready because there were strong winds early morning yesterday,” Mr Sukulu said.
“That last time, we took the warning lightly and we faced the consequences. Our house was damaged and we had to look for extra money to fix it.”
He advised the public to take heed of warnings from the relevant authorities because we never know what would happen in the next 24- hours.
“It looks like this weather will worsen so people need to take extra care and measures to prevent damages to their properties.”
“I have learnt my lesson the last time so I’m preparing my family well for the weather forecasted for this weekend,” Mr Sukulu said. Edited by Paula Tuvuki
