President Visits Dilkusha Home

The President, Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Konrote was on Thursday commended for his visit to Dilkusha Home on New Year’s Eve by the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma president, Reverend Tevita Nawadra and Deaconess Leba Laveti.
President Konrote said he was happy to celebrate with young ones as we “step out of the old year and step into the new one”.
“Dilkusha has a long history and it is our wish and prayer that God continues to bless the children who are being looked after by the church,” President Konrote said.
Rev Nawadra likened the visit by the President as that of the three kings from Bethlehem bearing gifts for the children.
“There have been many, many firsts for Dilkusha this year – on the eve of Christmas, the Prime Minister was here and he brought with him the new bus that is out there as a gift and I believe that was he was the first PM to visit as well so we are blessed this year,” he said.
Rev Nawadra said the church was happy to take care of the children not just for itself but for Fiji.
Deaconess Laveti said the children were looking forward to meeting and talking to the President as they normally see him either on television or in the newspapers. DEPTFO News
