Nasinu Rugby Union Revival

Plans are underway to revive the Nasinu Rugby Union this year.
Leading the working committee is former national rep and Vodafone Fijian 7s manager Paula Biu who confirmed they have started discussions last year.
“We are working on reviving Nasinu Rugby Union to be part of Fiji Rugby Union again.
“To engage Nasinu’s youths and provide them with the opportunities to utilize their God-given talents through rugby, which would have a spinoff effect on, amongst others, curbing crimes and being responsible citizens,” Biu said.
The main focus will be the communities along the Nasinu corridor from Wainivula Creek to Eight Miles.
“We have had meetings with Nasinu Town Council last year and we have also informed Fiji Rugby Union that we will be reviving the Nasinu Rugby Union and talks have been positive.
“For that we are working on meeting the FRU requirements and in order to form a Union we need minimum of 10 clubs and currently we have six clubs and working to get more numbers,” Biu added.
“Everyone now is in a festive mood so once this is over then the committee will be meeting again.”
The committee is calling on interested clubs to register with the union.
“ All interested clubs along the Nasinu corridor to contact us.”
