Prime Minister Voreqe Baini-marama will officially launch the MV Lomaiviti Princess III next Thursday.
Goundar Shipping Limited’s managing director George Goundar said that yesterday’s traditional ceremony of welcome was done on a small scale as the focus is on the official launching by the Prime Minister.
“The MV Lomaiviti Princess III makes it maiden voyage the very next day to Kadavu,” he said.
Prime Minister Bainimarama had visited the ferry in Canada last year – which according to Mr Goundar: “The PM was very impressed with the vessel’s state-of-the-art facilities and high standard condition.”
Mr Goundar added that the travelling public would be impressed at the state-of-the-art facilities this vessel has to offer.
