Ambassador Saran Presents Credentials

Fiji’s Ambassador to the European Union Deo Saran recently presented his credentials as non-resident Ambassador for Fiji to Georgia.
Ambassador Saran conveyed warm greetings of President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Konrote to Giorge Margvelashvili, President of Georgia, when he presented his credentials.
He underlined that Fiji valued highly the friendship and cordial relationship with the Georgian government and its people
Ambassador Saran also met with the deputy director, Department of Diplomatic Protocol, Giorgi Giorgi Mikeladze.
This is in terms of sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs.
Mr Mikeladze applauded Fiji’s strong leadership in the Pacific region and saw Fiji as an exemplary case for other Pacific Island countries.
He said Georgia was looking at Fiji to foster its political interest in the Pacific region.
Mr Mikeladze expressed the Georgian Government’s readiness to host bilateral consultations and invited a high level state delegation to visit Georgia.
Ambassador Saran invited Georgia to become observers in the Pacific Islands Development Forum and MSG meetings and sought support to address various challenges faced by the Pacific Island countries.
