A 50-year-old man yesterday pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

Losalini Moce appeared before Magistrate Makereta Mua at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday. The charges and the summary of facts were read out in iTaukei to the accused to which he indicated he understood and agreed to.

The court heard that on August 19 last year in Suva, Moce was allegedly found in possession of 10.5 grams of marijuana.

The accused gave his oral mitigation and informed the court he was willing to pay a fine.

Police prosecution informed the court that the accused had previous convictions that were more than 10 years old.

Magistrate Mua adjourned the case to January 19 for sentencing. Bail has been extended for Moce.
