Priscilla Siata aims to fight her way back into Telecom Fijiana team.

But first she must prove her worth at the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s which starts on Thursday at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

The 29-year-old, who will play for Central Chiefs, will train as best she can in order to don the white jumper again.

“For me it has been a long time coming and this is something I am ready for and the Coral Coast 7s is a perfect opportunity for me to prove myself,” Siata said.

“I am ready for the challenge and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get noticed and don that white jersey again.”

The utility back from Wailailai, Levuka knows that it will not be easy to get a place on the team due to the form of the current team coached by Iliesa Tanivula.

“The girls who are already part of the team have done such an incredible job already and I know they have been working hard to keep their spot on the team,” she said.

“But we all know the selectors will be at the tournament and I’m willing to challenge these girls for a spot on the team.

“The Rio Olympics in Brazil is coming up and everyone is eyeing that big event. The team to Rio isn’t finalised yet, it gives girls like me the opportunity to make my mark.”

Siata has been part of the Fijiana team for seven years and was part of the team to tournaments such as the Women’s World Cup in Russia in 2013 where they won the Bowl, Women’s Sevens Series qualifiers in Hong Kong and the 2013-2014 Women’s Sevens Series.

Though her aim are focused on getting back into the team, Siata knows she needs to work hard in order to get noticed as there will be other girls vying for a spot on the team as well.

“I think what I can offer to the team is teamwork which is really important and also I need to improve on my fitness.

The Bayleys Coral Coast 7s start on Thursday through to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
