A 26 year old security officer of Narere is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.
The victim was swimming with a group of boys in the Korolevu River, in Wainunu in the Northern Division when he allegedly drowned at about 1600hrs yesterday.
A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as investigations continue.
The drowning toll currently stands at 5 compared to 1 for the same period last year.
