‘We are dedicated to making sure that all Fijians have the same quality of life and the same opportunities regardless of where they call home’

Government does not differentiate who it assists, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

He reiterated this during a press conference at Koro Sun Resort and Rainfall Spa in Savusavu last Friday night.

Mr Bainimarama said one good example was the 70-kilometre Dreketi-Nabowalu Highway project which was for everyone.

“The opening of various classrooms, provision of desks, tables and projects within villages which the Government has done is for everyone,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“The disbursement of Small and Micro Enterprises (SME) grant is for everyone.

“We don’t differentiate anyone by colour, race or background and Government does not differentiate who its assists. That is our policy,” he said.

Mr Bainimarama said they did not take into account the people who did not vote for him during election

“The fact is that we can’t afford to leave anyone behind.

“For development we need to go together and I don’t want to leave anyone behind,” he said.

Mr Bainimarama said that his Government had prioritised a number of projects in the Northern region.

“I am very proud to say that the North is on the move.

“We are dedicated to making sure that all Fijians have the same quality of life and the same opportunities regardless of where they call home,” he said.

Mr Bainimarama said the continued improvement in infrastructure will create more opportunities.

“Our economy has been growing at a record rate and investor confidence by both Fijians and foreign investors and potential investors has never been higher,” he said.

“A growing economy gives us more opportunity, more money to spend on infrastructure, education, health and social welfare, more Fijians looking to turn their ideas into successful businesses and more chance to raise up all Fijians and create a higher standard of living.”

He added that the North was sharing in that prosperity and also contributed to that prosperity more than ever before.
